SOLO is built for people who want to go out alone without overthinking. We’ve designed it to do its job without collecting personal data about you. This document explains exactly what that means.
When you grant location permission, SOLO reads your current GPS coordinates to find restaurants, activities, and events near you. Your location is used to query third-party services (listed below) for places and events near those coordinates — only the latitude and longitude are sent, never any identifier tied to you.
Your location is not stored on any server we operate. SOLO has no backend infrastructure of its own.
You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → SOLO. The app will continue to work, but place suggestions will require you to manually set a location.
The following data is stored locally on your iPhone using iOS’s standard UserDefaults mechanism:
This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling SOLO permanently removes it.
SOLO queries these services on your behalf when generating itineraries. Each receives only the coordinates needed to look up nearby places. None receives identifying information about you.
SOLO sends only the data each service needs to fulfill the request. We do not share, sell, or trade any data about you to any third party.
SOLO is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.
If we ever change how SOLO handles data, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted in the next app update’s release notes.
